This ring features an incredible piece of rainbow moonstone. It has a very strong flash that can be seen from virtually all angles, and a very beautiful striped pattern.
With a silvery light that seems to come from within, moonstone has many associations with the Moon. According to Hindu mythology, moonstone is made of solidified moonbeams. Many other cultures also associate this gem with moonlight, and it’s easy to see why. Its internal structure scatters the light that strikes it, creating a phenomenon known as adularescence. The visual effect is reminiscent of the full moon shining through a veil of thin, high clouds.
I design all of my pieces to look like ancient artifacts with a modern twist. This ring was handmade using the lost wax casting process and cast in recycled 14k gold. It lays flat against the finger making it very comfortable to wear. This ring is currently size US 7.75, but can be sized.
