SATURN: He is the Roman counterpart of the Greek god Chronus, and was an agricultural god. His reign of was a golden age of peace and prosperity; and his celebration of Saturnalia featured many rituals (gift giving, family gathering, etc) that we now perform in Christmas and New Years. Saturday was named after him.
